Information on sites proposed for development in Sevenoaks District Council’s new Local Plan is now available. There are two sites proposed within Fawkham: Fawkham Business Park for 31 housing units, and Orchard Farm for 40 units (understood to be in addition to the eight bungalows currently under construction there). One of the proposed sites in Hartley is described as land adjacent to Banckside and Downs Valley where 114 houses are proposed. This land is also known as 40 acre field and is the last field on the right when heading towards Longfield past Steephill. This site is close to our Parish boundary and likely to be visible from the valley road.

As you will see, there are further sites proposed in the local area including in Hartley, Ash, New Ash Green and West Kingsdown, some of which are close to our parish boundary, and we will be also looking at those sites.

There is limited additional information on the proposed sites available at this stage. FPC will assess further information once it becomes available, along with the policies contained within the Local Plan.
SDC is holding a public consultation, known as Regulation 18, which will run from October 23rd to December 11th. Fawkham Parish Council will be making a detailed response to SDC under this consultation, on both the Local Plan’s proposed policies and sites. The Local Plan consultation will be included on our agendas from October until December and, as always, members of the public are very welcome to attend our meetings.
