A little history, taken from Fawkham: The Story of a Kentish Village, by W.F. Proudfoot: some landlords have remained at the Inn for long periods of time. Richard Ralph was landlord for over 40 years from 1824 . George Giles and Francis Ford followed but each only stayed a few years. Thomas Haseldon became landlord in 1877 and stayed over 50 years, after which his son, also Thomas, took over until 1943. R.G. Weatherill then became landlord.
